壁に胴縁（木下地）を渡し、
今回はいよいよ石膏ボードを貼り付けていきます。
最終的には漆喰を塗って仕上げる予定なので、
その下地づくりの重要な工程です。

▼苦労した点
石膏ボードは何十枚もいただいたものの、
あちこちが欠けていて加工が非常に難しい状態…。
下地も不安定で、ミリ単位のズレとの戦いでした。
一人作業は想像以上にハードで、
脚立の上での高所作業、足元の悪さ、腰の痛みとも戦いながらの施工となりました。

途中でボードが壊れてしまったり、
仮止めして寸法を何度も確認したり…
一筋縄ではいかない作業の一部始終をご覧ください。

こんな感じで、限られた材料と一人の手で
少しずつ形にしていく様子をお届けします。

This is Episode 20 of my temple main hall self-renovation series.

Up until recently, I installed the wooden furring strips (dou-buchi) on the wall,
and today I'm finally attaching the plasterboards.
The plan is to apply Japanese plaster (shikkui) as the final finish,
making this an important base preparation step.

▼ The Challenges
Although I received dozens of plasterboards for free,
many are chipped and cracked, making them extremely difficult to cut and fit.
The wooden base is also uneven, so I had to fight millimeter-level discrepancies throughout.
This is really a three-person job, but doing it alone was much harder than expected.
I struggled with high-place work on the stepladder, unstable footing, and back pain.

Boards broke midway, and I had to temporarily fix them multiple times
just to double-check the measurements…
