Number 10 in our “Forgotten Quilt Blocks” series — Road to California! 🧵

This beautiful traditional block has so much vintage charm, and it’s a fun one to put together! In this tutorial, I’ll show you a couple of easy techniques that make piecing the block simpler, including making 4 half-square triangles at one time and 2 four-patches at one time.

The Road to California block measures 12½″ x 12½″ unfinished and finishes at 12″ x 12″ once sewn into a quilt.

We’re continuing our journey through traditional quilt blocks, one block at a time, with the goal of bringing these beautiful old patterns back to life and eventually creating our Forgotten Quilt Blocks Sampler Quilt.
