Education policy think tank Africa Education Watch is calling on government to publish a detailed teacher posting plan to guide the deployment of the 7,000 teachers set to be recruited.

Speaking at a press briefing, Executive Director Kofi Asare stressed the need for district-level quotas to ensure the equitable distribution of teachers across the country.

He noted that greater transparency in the posting process is critical to addressing disparities in teacher allocation and improving outcomes in underserved areas.

Eduwatch is also urging the Ministries of Education and Finance to collaborate on securing supplementary funding, particularly for transfer grants to support teacher deployment.

The call comes amid ongoing concerns about fairness and efficiency in Ghana’s teacher distribution system.
