GOVERNMENT APPROVES RECRUITMENT OF 7,000 TEACHERS TO BOOST EDUCATION

The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has announced that the Ministry has secured financial clearance to recruit 7,000 teachers nationwide

Speaking at a press briefing, the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, explained that the approval, granted by the Ministry of Finance, is to recruit 7000 teachers.
This forms part of the government’s broader strategy to reduce unemployment while strengthening the education sector across the country.
He indicated that priority will be given to teachers who are willing to accept postings to remote and underserved communities, as well as areas where their services are most needed.
The recruitment exercise will cover qualified teachers from the 2022 to 2025 cohorts.

He further directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to open its application portal on 10th April to begin the process. He emphasized that the recruitment must be conducted in a transparent, fair, and competitive manner to ensure equal opportunity for all applicants.
