Steven Spielberg is back with a massive sci-fi alien blockbuster, but is it actually worth the watch? While some are calling Disclosure Day his best work in decades, I have some thoughts on why this alien adventure doesn't quite hit the mark. 🫣

The movie stars Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor on a mission to disclose we aren't alone in the universe, facing off against a villainous group led by Colin Firth.

While Spielberg's early 2000s sci-fi style is on full display here, complete with experimental camera work and an incredible John Williams score, the screenplay feels incredibly formulaic. The clunky dialogue and stiff interpersonal scenes really drag the film down, regressing from the great, grounded films he's given us in the 2020s.
