Ibrahim Traore arrival in Ouahigouya city of Naaba Kango, in Yaadga region:
In the slightly chilly and cloudy morning of Thursday July 16th 2026, the president of Burkina Faso Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traore arrived in Owahigouya city of Naaba Kango, to commence his highly anticipated visit of Yaadga and Nord region, in the country's far northwestern parts, near its border with Mali.
Despite the security challenges being witnessed in some parts of the country, the 38 year old head of state found thousands of locals that had been mobilized to receive him in their city having lined up along the streets, together with their local administrative leaders, ready to grant him a warm welcome.
As expected, security had been beefed up, with a heavy deployment of some soldiers, national gendarmes, special forces commandos and elite members of his protection unit, who took positions way before the arrival of his motorcade.
Then despite some members of his security team, close aides and advance or clearing details arriving in much luxurious rides like this mordern Toyota Land Cruiser 250 SUV, JMC pickups, and other Toyota Land Cruisers, Captain Traore arrived in his favourite bulletproof sandy-taupe Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Series, in a convoy of about 5 similar looking pickups.
This choice of the simple pickup once again highlighted his commitment to humility, practicality and solidarity with the military and citizens.
The Special Forces Commandos guarding him and the whole ceremony were seen armed with C Zee Bren 2 lightweight assault rifles, which are select-fire assault rifles from Czech Republic, that are designed primarily for close-to-medium-range tactical combat.
As seen here, the black gun optic mounted on top of the gun is a red dot sight, which can be optimized for rapid target acquisition in close-quarters battle, and the gun itself features a folding and telescopic stock, allowing the commandos to keep the weapon ultra-compact while moving in and out of vehicles, yet extendable in a split second with a quick pull.
Anyway, during his stay in the Owahigouya City, Captain Traore had been set to meet and interact with select groups of socio-professionals from the Yaadga and the Nord region, in order to encourage them and get their feedback on the ongoing development programs and efforts aimed at reconquest of the national territory, as well as get their feedback on their preferred priority projects or programs and areas of concentration.
He had also been set to meet with the Active Forces of Yaadga, that is the Security and Defense Forces, together with the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland from the region, for frank and direct exchanges on subjects of interest for the region and the path of the country's engagement in the irreversible path of the People's Progressive Revolution.
