META AI
So Meta has just rolled out a new feature for your parents, to clue them in on the conversations you're having with its chatbot. Yeah, so If you're 13 to 17 and using Meta's parental supervision tools. Your parents will soon be able see the topics you've talked about with Meta AI, on its apps like Instagram and Facebook. And if those chats dip into anything risky, they'll get a notification. Meta has also shared a list of questions to help families talk about AI, and an AI Wellbeing Council to give guidance on safe use. Some people say this is a smart way to keep teens safe. Others say it crosses a privacy line.
12 APOSTLES
Scientists reckon they may have just figured out the real age of Victoria's famous landmark, the Twelve Apostles. The sea stones reel in millions of visitors every year. And for ages, scientists have said they're around 15 million years old. But now, in the first study of the Aussie landmark to be published since 1944, scientists analysed microscopic fossils found in the apostles and the surrounding cliffs. And while they still say the rock itself is millions of years old, they now reckon the stacks we see today were only carved within the past few thousand years. From here, experts hope to use data they collect from the limestone to get a better picture of Earth's climate history.
ANZAC CADET
Tomorrow is Anzac Day, and hundreds of thousands of Aussies will be taking part in Dawn services around the country. Now we're going to meet Catrina, one of the many young army cadets who will be marching to remember those who have fought and died for our country.
POSTCARD KIDS
Finally over to Queensland, where year 5 students have been making and sending postcards to thank our country's former and serving Australian Defence Force members. These students are just some of the thousands of kids across Queensland who have been making postcards. It's part of the Postcards of Honour program, which is all about educating students about Australia's military history and connecting with local Australian Defence Force members. They also had a visit from veteran Grant Hartigan, who talked about the history of the ANZACS and how much these postcards mean to veterans.
