In a massive aerial assault, Moscow fired hundreds of drones and missiles at multiple Ukrainian cities, triggering explosions, fires and widespread destruction. The night sky lit up with flashes of blasts as Russia targeted locations across the country. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Moscow launched more than 656 drones and 73 missiles in a single overnight attack, including powerful ballistic missiles that are difficult to intercept. Ukraine says its air defences successfully shot down 602 drones and 40 missiles, but several projectiles still reached their targets.
