The United States may soon introduce one of the biggest changes to its student visa system in years. The White House is reviewing a proposal that would cap the stay of international students on F-1 visas at four years — replacing the current “duration of status” system that allows students to remain in the country for the length of their academic programme, states a Bloomberg Law report. The proposed rule would also affect J-1 visa holders, including researchers, professors, and exchange visitors.
